Background, experience, and how I work.

I joined CDTECH in late 2024 as a sales engineer, roughly eighteen months ago. My background is in international trade, not engineering, which means I came into this industry the way most buyers approach it: knowing what I needed to find out, but not yet knowing how to read a datasheet. That gap closed fast. When your job is to answer technical questions from hardware engineers every day, you learn quickly or you lose the customer.

CDTECH is a TFT-LCD display module manufacturer based in Shenzhen. We specialize in industrial, automotive, and medical display modules from 2.4 to 15.6 inches, covering interfaces including SPI, MCU, RGB, LVDS, MIPI, and eDP, with options for resistive or capacitive touch, custom backlight, and optical bonding. We are a custom manufacturer, which means we do not carry inventory. That distinction matters more than most buyers realize, and I will come back to it.

Over the past eighteen months, I have worked directly with OEM engineers and procurement teams across multiple industries: power systems, audio equipment, marine navigation, medical devices, automotive, and more. The work involves sourcing standard modules, evaluating custom specifications, and handling EOL replacements, which is where things get complicated.

The most instructive project I handled was an EOL replacement for a 12.3-inch display module. The replacement value was close to three million USD. We could not fulfill it. Not because the technical match did not exist, but because we had no inventory, and by the nature of how custom manufacturing works, we almost never do. If the original module was custom-built for a specific customer, there is no surplus stock sitting in a warehouse. EOL for a custom display is not a sourcing problem. It is a product development problem, and it needs to be treated as one from the start. That project taught me more about how buyers and manufacturers misunderstand each other than anything else I have done in this role.

Most display problems are not about finding a panel. They are about finding one that fits the enclosure, matches the interface, survives the temperature range, and ships with documentation your quality team will accept. And for custom modules, they are about knowing what questions to ask before you are locked in.

I started this blog for two reasons. The first is that most content about LCD modules online is either a product datasheet or a shallow overview written by someone who has never handled a real sourcing inquiry. There is very little written from the perspective of someone who deals with actual customer requirements every day. My goal is to fill that gap with practical content that reflects how display sourcing actually works, including the parts that go wrong.

The second reason is more direct: this blog is a way for engineers and procurement teams to find me. CDTECH has an official website at cdtech-display.com. This blog is a complement to that, written from my perspective as the person who handles inquiries, not from a corporate marketing angle.

If you are evaluating TFT-LCD modules for a new product, navigating an EOL situation, or just trying to understand what questions to ask a display manufacturer, feel free to reach out directly.
